Build a Plan. Put it Into Action
Taxes and financial planning are closely connected. Yet too often, they're treated as completely separate conversations.
I founded Ten Talents Tax & Financial Planning to help change that.
With more than 30 years of experience in accounting and finance, and credentialed as both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I bring both a tax and financial planning perspective to the decisions my clients face.
My goal isn't simply to prepare a tax return. It's to help clients better understand their finances, recognize opportunities, and make informed decisions about their financial future.
Guidance for Every Stage of Your Financial Life
Your financial life changes over time, and your tax and planning needs change with it. From building a career and growing a business to investing, preparing for retirement, and navigating major life decisions, Ten Talents helps you understand how today's financial choices can affect tomorrow.
Where Tax Planning Meets Financial Planning
Your financial decisions don't happen in isolation. Taxes can affect retirement, investments, business decisions, and other financial goals. By bringing tax and financial planning together, Ten Talents helps you consider both today's tax implications and tomorrow's financial goals.
Why Ten Talents
The name Ten Talents reflects a simple philosophy: what we have should be managed wisely so it can grow.
That principle is at the heart of how I work with clients.
Whether we're discussing a tax return, retirement decision, investment-related tax issue, or financial goals, I believe people make better decisions when they understand their options and the potential consequences of those decisions.
That's why education is an important part of the Ten Talents approach. I don't want clients simply to receive a completed tax return or finanial recommendation. I want them to better understand the why behind it.
More Than Tax Preparation
Traditional tax preparation primarily looks backward.
What did you earn?
What did you spend?
What happened last year?
Those questions are important, but I believe there's another question worth asking:
What can we do going forward?
That's where tax planning and financial planning come together.
A tax return can reveal opportunities involving retirement contributions, investments, business decisions, witholding, estimated taxes, charitable giving, and other areas of your financial life.
My CPA background helps me understand the tax implications.
My CFP® background helps me consider how those decisions fit into the bigger financial picture.
Together, those perspectives allow Ten Talents to provide something beyond tax preperation alone.
